Black History Month

2/26/2025

As we get to the end of February, I want to share a bit about Black History Month. I am so thankful we have a whole month to celebrate; Carter B. Woodson first suggested it be a week in February. But I also believe, that we can learn Black History, as well as the history of other people of color, not just during a designated month, but all year long. With that being said, we will offer a free Black History lesson online next week.

I love teaching children about Black History (See pictures):

  1. Harriet Tubman (One of the teachers I work with.)
  2. Gees Bend quilters
  3. Matthew Henson
  4. Watching Learning with Lamby, Black History show. (Click on to see.)
  5. Mary McLeod Bethune
